Diploma Computer blackbook project

In the final year of a computer engineering diploma the capstone project is a working prototype or software built by a group of three or four, and a project report that documents it. Under MSBTE’s K scheme the report follows the board’s own contents, title page and certificate, and the board asks that it focus on the project work and its implementation rather than on describing tools.

Your own chapters, laid out for your topic, before you pay anything.

Structure

Chapters of a Diploma Computer project report

After the title page, certificate, acknowledgement and abstract, MSBTE’s K-scheme Capstone Project curriculum (course 316004, approved 04/09/2025) lists these chapters, and BlackBook writes them in this order with the board’s own front pages. Your guide may rename a chapter; the board allows it.

Marking

What examiners look for

  1. 1Write the scope chapter so it matches what you will actually demo; examiners check the two against each other.
  2. 2Keep the tools to a short, relevant mention. The board’s guidelines want the report to describe your project and how it was built.
  3. 3Every result in Chapter 6 should come from your own testing, with screenshots of your working system.
  4. 4Keep your weekly project diary up to date and signed; it is part of how the capstone is assessed.

FAQ

Questions

What chapters does an MSBTE capstone project report have?

MSBTE’s K-scheme curriculum for the capstone project lists Introduction, Literature Survey, Scope of the Project, Methodology or Approach, Details of Designs, Working and Processes, Results and Applications, then the Conclusion and References. Students may adjust chapter names with their guide.

Is the certificate the same for every polytechnic?

The board gives a certificate format that names one student, signed by the internal faculty, the external faculty if applicable, and the head of department with the department stamp. Some polytechnics print it on their own sheet with the MSBTE and institute logos; use theirs if they hand it out.

Can I use the same report for a micro-project?

No. A micro-project is a short report for one course with its own proposal and report format. The capstone report is the final-year project report.
