Diploma Computer project topics

23 topics for a Diploma Computer final year project. A computer engineering diploma ends with a capstone project built by a group of three or four in the final year. MSBTE asks for a working prototype, model or software for a real problem, not a study-type project. These topics have a real user, data you can collect yourselves and a demo you can finish in a semester.

These are ideas, not an official list. Your guide approves the topic, so take two or three to them.

Diploma Computer project topics: Web applications

How to choose your Diploma Computer topic

  1. 1Pick a problem you have seen yourself: your college, your society, a relative’s shop. You will be able to explain it without notes in the viva.
  2. 2Check that you can build it with what you already know, plus one new thing. Two new frameworks in one semester is where projects stall.
  3. 3Make sure it has data to store and at least two kinds of user. That gives you an ER diagram, use cases and test cases worth writing about.
  4. 4Search your college’s past projects. A common topic is fine if your version does something the others did not; say what that is in Chapter 1.

Questions

Can a diploma capstone project be a study or survey?

MSBTE’s K-scheme guidelines say a study-type project is not advisable. Build a prototype, a working model or software, and report what it does.

How many students are in a capstone group?

The board’s guidelines say a group of three or four students under a faculty mentor. Each member is also assessed on their own contribution.
