Help and documentation
Short answers to everything you do in BlackBook: creating and generating a blackbook, editing with Ask AI, exporting, and buying or selling projects. For writing guidance, see the guides.
Creating a blackbook
How do I start a blackbook or a project report?
Open Create and choose what you are making: a blackbook (a project with coding) or a project report (a study with no coding). Pick your course and type your project title and one line about it. The chapters it will have appear at once. Your name, college and guide details go on the cover, and you can add them while it is being written.
Blackbook or project report: which one do I choose?
If you built something with code (BSc IT, BSc CS, BCA, MCA, engineering), choose blackbook: system design, UML and ER diagrams, code, test cases, about 85 pages. If your project is a study with no coding (BMS, BCom, BAF, BBA, MBA, arts, science, law, school), choose project report: literature review, methodology, survey tables with charts, SWOT, findings, about 45 pages. Read a sample blackbook and a sample project report.
What should I write in the project description?
What your project is about and what you did. For a software or engineering project: what the system does, who uses it and its main features. For a research project: the topic, objectives, who you surveyed or what data you used. The AI writes every chapter from this, so a specific description gives a specific report.
Can it write from my project’s code?
Yes, if you have built it. When you start, add your project folder, a zip of it or a public GitHub link. The code is read in your browser and never uploaded; only a short summary (modules, database tables or collections, a few real excerpts) is sent, and it is deleted once the blackbook is written. It is optional.
Can I use my college’s own format?
When you start, choose Standard format or your college. A college format gives you that college’s title page, certificate, approval sheet and chapters; Bharati Vidyapeeth (Department of Engineering and Technology, Navi Mumbai) is the first. If yours is not there, send us its format from the same place and we add it.
What writes my blackbook?
BlackBook AI, the engine built for this site. It follows the chapter structure your course expects, writes each section to a length, and adds the diagrams, tables and charts that belong in it. There is nothing to choose: one engine writes every document. Prices are on the pricing page.
Writing
How long does the writing take?
About a minute or two. Each chapter is written and saved separately. If you close the tab or your phone locks before it finishes, it is finished for you, and we email you when it is ready.
A chapter says "Generation Failed". What now?
Use the Retry button on that chapter. It regenerates just that chapter with the same model; the rest of your document is untouched.
Editing
How do I use Ask AI?
Select text in any section and click Ask AI. Describe the change or tap a quick action such as Fix grammar or Shorten. Review the suggestion, then choose Replace or Insert below. Undo reverses it. More on the editor page.
How do I edit the cover page?
Click the title, your name, roll number, guide, college, city or year on the cover page and type. Changes save automatically.
How do I change a diagram?
Under each diagram or chart, press Ask AI to change this diagram, describe the change (or pick Fix errors, More detail, Simplify, or a layout) and keep the new version if you like it; Undo puts the old one back. You can also open Edit diagram source and change it by hand. Drag its corner to resize. Which diagrams you need: UML diagram guide.
When do I pay?
After it is written. You read the cover, front matter and Chapter 1 in full, and the opening of every other section, free. One payment then unlocks every chapter to read and edit, and PDF and Word downloads as often as you need. There is no second payment and no subscription. See pricing.
Preview and export
How do I download my blackbook?
Choose Export in the editor. Once your document is unlocked you can download a formatted PDF for printing and binding, or a Word (.docx) file laid out the same way (cover, front pages, chapters on new pages, numbered figures and pages) for final changes, as often as you need.
What format does the PDF use?
A4 pages in Times New Roman with standard margins, a cover page, front matter and numbered chapters. Check it against your department rules using the format guide.
Buying and selling projects
What do I get when I buy a project?
The complete report as PDF (and Word where the seller provided it), and for a working project its source code as a zip with the seller’s setup steps. Before buying you can read the first 10 pages, see what it is built with and watch the seller’s recording of it running in the store. Your copy is watermarked with your account.
How do I sell my project and get paid?
On the Sell page, add the report, then the working project: the source code as a zip, what it is built with, the setup steps and a YouTube recording of it running, and your UPI ID. After review it goes live. You keep 70% of every sale; earnings become withdrawable 3 days after each sale and you request a payout from Seller Earnings.
