How to choose your Diploma IT topic
- 1Pick a problem you have seen yourself: your college, your society, a relative’s shop. You will be able to explain it without notes in the viva.
- 2Check that you can build it with what you already know, plus one new thing. Two new frameworks in one semester is where projects stall.
- 3Make sure it has data to store and at least two kinds of user. That gives you an ER diagram, use cases and test cases worth writing about.
- 4Search your college’s past projects. A common topic is fine if your version does something the others did not; say what that is in Chapter 1.
Questions
Which topic is best for a diploma IT capstone project?
One with a real user you can describe and a database behind it. Examiners check that the scope chapter matches what you demo, so pick something you can finish.
Do I need to write code for the capstone project?
For an IT diploma, almost always: MSBTE asks for a working prototype or software alongside the report, with a soft copy of the code submitted.
