BArch project topics
31 topics for a BArch final year project. A BArch thesis is a design project with a report that justifies it: site, case studies, programme and concept. These topics are building types with real sites to visit and built examples to study.
These are ideas, not an official list. Your guide approves the topic, so take two or three to them.

How to choose your BArch topic
- Pick a building type with a real site you can visit and measure. A thesis without site visits shows in the first review.
- Find two or three built examples you can study as case studies, at least one of them in person.
- Choose a scale you can resolve to detail in the time you have. A well-resolved school is stronger than an unresolved township.
- State the question the design answers, not only the building type: "a school that stays cool without air conditioning".
Questions
How do I choose a BArch thesis topic?
Start from a site and a question you care about, then find the building type that answers it. Check that you can visit the site more than once and study at least one comparable building in person.
Does the thesis site have to be real?
Almost always, yes. A real site gives you context, climate, access and bylaws to respond to, and the jury will ask about all four.
